KATH doctors call off strike

Doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have called off their strike after a series of meetings with stakeholders and management of the facility.

The strike, initiated on Wednesday, March 13, due to accommodation challenges, particularly the alleged eviction of 20 colleagues from their bungalows, had severely disrupted healthcare services, leaving patients stranded and frustrated.

In response to the situation, hospital management engaged in discussions with the striking doctors and other stakeholders to address the underlying issues. As a result, the strike has been called off, signaling a step towards resolving the accommodation concerns and restoring normalcy to healthcare delivery at the facility.

The doctors after the meeting said they had assurances from the management and agreed to call off the strike.

Below is a statement signed by the Chairman of the Komfo Anokye Doctors Association, Dr Michael Leat.
